What to Wear: 4th of July

                  The
Fourth of July is the quintessentially American holiday, and with it comes all
the fun America loves: barbecues or picnics, relaxing by the lake and pools,
and fireworks displays! Here are some tips to help outfit you for all the July
4th celebrations you can fit in.
                  Kick
off your festivities with a refreshing dip. Lakes, rivers and friend’s pools
are all popular destinations to get a little sun and water fun, and the right
bathing attire will make you stand out at any location. Consider this adorable
halter
or this twist
front top
, both bikini tops in all American tie die and both from rue21. Pull
on your favorite pair of jean shorts and sandals and you can kick your
celebration day off right. Don’t forget your sunglasses!
                  Choosing
an outfit for outdoor dining gets a little more specific to the occasion you’re
attending, but some classic pieces will suit you for pretty much anything. A glamorous
straw hat
like this one from Echo Design will go great with those oversize
shades you’ve been dying to wear; the sun protection is a super bonus! If pants
are needed, capris or those lovely roll up pants you see from outdoors-y stores
(like these
water resistant beauties
from Eddie Bauer, or this less
expensive version
from Lee jeans) should suit for a variety of events. If
pants aren’t your style, summer is sundress weather, so get all the mileage you
can out of your favorite sundress.
You’re sure to set off some sparks
of your own in this dramatic pairing of a belly-baring (but oh so patriotic!) flounce
bandeau top
, also from rue21. Pair it with this versatile
maxi skirt
, and you have just the thing for looking great while gazing at
fireworks. Some bug spray might be in order, however. Pair with some strappy
sandals or maybe these subtle and cushiony fashion sandals
from reef.com. Your favorite well-worn denim jacket will keep you cozy when the
sun goes down as you celebrate with the firework loving throngs. The Fourth of
July is a time to get outside and have some fun, and you can definitely look
great (and patriotic) while you do it!
